Old Magnolia Tree Grows in Campbell

In the yard of Edna Teague Foster grows this old magnolia tree, well-known to Campbell residents for many years. The tree was planted in 1887 by a Dr. Boyd from Louisiana, to remind him of his Southern roots. Dr. Boyd only stayed a year at his home on North Main Street, but the tree is now over 110 years old. Christine Landess Beall has told Mrs. Foster that "The branches of this lovely tree, with its glossy green leaves, seem to reach out and lovingly embrace your house."
