Hemingway - Pfeiffer Museum

In 1927, the author Ernest Hemingway married his second wife, Pauline Pfeiffer. The couple often stayed at her parents' house in Piggott, Arkansas.

The old Pfeiffer house has been renovated into a museum, and the site of the old Piggott school across the street will be converted into an Educational Center and parking area.

Although the furniture has not yet been refinished and placed in the house, the house is now open to the public for tours: 9 a.m. through 3 p.m., Mondays through Fridays; and from 12 noon to 3 p.m., Saturdays. For more details, visit the Hemingway - Pfeiffer Home Page on the Arkansas State University Web Site.

Barn Studio
A barn on the property was converted into a studio for Ernest. There, Hemingway wrote portions of his novel A Farewell to Arms. Previously in disrepair, the studio required extensive renovation. Shown below, the studio is now open to the public.
