Hi Hal ... Jasper Lownsdale sent me the info on your page. You have really done a great job and it really brings back a lot of fond memories. I also appreciate the good work you and the other CHS grads do in keeping the annual Alumni meeting so well organized. Keep up the good work and know that all the Campbell natives appreciate your effort. L. Jean Slankard

Once again I had to check out old Campbell memories. I grad. in 61, husband Don Ricks in 58. Our family is having a reunion at the center there the day after the 2001 school reunion. The Goldsmith / Perkins Reunion ... We should have around 200 to 300 attending.

Was looking for anything I could find about or around my hometown of Clarkton, Missouri. I now live in northern Illinois. I enjoyed looking through all the stuff you have accumulated. I especially liked the Magnolia and the picture of Weldon Wallace. We went to school in Clarkton in the same era. I think he was a year or two behind me in school. I do remember being in a couple of classes with him; and I remember him fondly as a good person. I was just remembering him a few weeks ago (something he said in class) and I shared it with a co-worker of mine. Weldon was a good kid.

Wanted to learn a little about the bootheel -- where my grandmother and most of dad's family were born. When I'm visiting relatives, I'll know a little about the area thanks to your website which offered plenty of nice photos of the countryside, people, and heritage along with background info. Plan to visit again -- your website and the bootheel area. Thank you for sharing!

This is very interesting and the pictures are quite "professional" in appearance. Good job. A history of Crowley's Ridge would be interesting -- when you have some spare time. Also, could you verify that the Mason-Dixon Line runs just north of Allen Road? Bob: My personal belief is that the Mason-Dixon Line has nothing to do with Campbell, despite that statement in several published articles. The original Mason-Dixon Line was the border of Pennsylvania and Maryland. Even the east-west line between Kentucky and Tennessee would run far north of us, around New Madrid, Missouri. I think it is much more likely that the major southern border of Missouri would have come through Campbell, except for the "Bootheel." As you know, the Missouri - Arkansas border turns south at the St. Francis River, west of Campbell. -- Hal

Thank you for the great site for the Campbell MO area. Especially enjoy the photos of the reunion. Just one suggestion - add last names to photo identification so that those of us who are researching our family can put a name and face together if we find them in one of the photos. My in-law's (Everett and Murl Polsgrove Geer) grew up in Campbell and there are still a few of the closer relatives as well as distant cousins residing in Campbell and the surrounding area.
